How to Create a QR Code for Wedding Photos

A print-ready checklist for creating a wedding photo QR entry: set up the destination, get the code, design the card and test a real guest upload.

By Eventringo · Updated

To create a useful wedding photo QR code, first prepare the gallery it links to. Then get the event QR entry, add it to your design and test the printed version on a guest’s phone.

You do not need a separate QR marketing service just to use the QR entry supplied for your Eventringo event. The important check is that the code opens the right event and the guest upload flow works.

Step 1: Prepare the wedding event

Create the event and enable ordinary gallery uploads if your goal is to collect guest photos. Choose access, approval and download settings. Check that the plan’s guest and storage capacity fit your group.

Use guest access for display-name entry without account creation, or require sign-in if that is the access mode you want. Tell guests which mode you have chosen before they encounter it.

Step 2: Use the event’s QR entry

Take the QR entry from your event’s sharing tools and place it in your card design. Use the same destination on every card for that wedding.

Add the event code or a suitable entry link below the image. A guest whose camera cannot scan should still have another way to reach the event. Check that your design contains the final event’s entry, not a test event.

Step 3: Keep the printed code readable

Choose a dark code on a light, plain background and leave a clear border around it. Decorative tape, flowers or textures can frame the card without touching the code itself.

The right printed size depends on where guests will scan it. A table card and a projected slide are used at different distances. Treat a print or projection test as the deciding check rather than relying only on how the design looks on your laptop.

Step 4: Run a full guest test

Test from a phone that is not logged in as the organizer. Scanning while already in your creator session can hide access problems a guest would face.

Check the full sequence below. When approval is enabled, verify both the pending state and the approved gallery result. If you use Live Screen, confirm the photo appears only in the stream you selected.

  1. Scan the actual printed card
  2. Confirm the correct wedding title
  3. Complete guest entry or sign-in
  4. Select and submit a test photo
  5. Check gallery visibility and approval
  6. Try the fallback code or link

Step 5: Print after the test succeeds

Proofread the invitation alongside the code. Print a small sample before ordering the complete set, and scan it in lighting similar to the venue.

Keep the original event link ready for your follow-up message. Before the event’s access and storage period ends, export the photos you want to keep.
